Radio Westchester™
60 Years in the Making
Our radio station at the train station became a reality with the perfect mix of people, foresight, experience, hard work and being at the right place at the right time.
Radio and content guru Bob Marrone, president of Media by Robert Inc. dba Radio Westchester™(RW), developed his chops for journalism and politics at an early age, and worked his way in the private sector before transitioning to radio journalism full time in 2002.
Timing was right for Sara Caldwell, president of Convey Media® (CM), when the seed of an online digital radio station was planted in 2008. She believed there would be a time when broadcasting on the internet would be fast and effortless. She called it: Radio Westchester™
Fast forward to 2014, and CM’s branding of ‘Radio Westchester’ and ‘Mornings with Bob Marrone’ were born. Searching for a physical location that embodies the people and communities that Marrone connects with, CM took the lead to build a radio station and podcast studio for Marrone and others to use.
In September 2018, the City of New Rochelle placed a request for information for organizations interested in using a fully windowed, cozy space at the train station. CM and Marrone developed the RW concept in partnership, and presented the concept of an intimate but technically advanced studio where live broadcasts take place and organizations, businesses and individuals could record video and audio podcasts with the ambiance of being in the beating heart of lower Westchester County.
